Abstract

The article presents the results of research on the influence of an organic cultivation system on the formation of biochemical indicators of potato tubers of the Myroslava variety under the conditions of the Polissia zone of Ukraine. Field experiments were conducted during 2023–2025 in a stationary experiment at the Institute of Potato Research of NAAS (Nemishaieve, Kyiv region, Ukraine). The experiment was arranged according to a split-plot design with three replications. The effect of three factors was studied: nutrition background (double green manure of white mustard; double green manure + cattle manure 40 t/ha), biological preparations (Biogran, Biogran + StimPure AA Liquid, StimPure AA Liquid, Humifield, VIT-ORG VG), and biofungicides (Mikohelp, Phytohelp) on the content of dry matter, starch, vitamin C, nitrates, total phenolic compounds and chlorogenic acid in potato tubers.
The results showed that the use of organic fertilizers, green manure crops and microbial preparations significantly improved the biochemical quality of potato tubers. The dry matter content ranged from 21.5 to 25.9%, starch content from 17.2 to 19.2%, vitamin C from 20.6 to 25.6 mg/100 g, total phenolic compounds from 66.48 to 71.98 mg/100 g, and chlorogenic acid from 64.08 to 69.87 mg/100 g. The highest values of dry matter, starch and phenolic compounds were obtained with the application of the VIT-ORG VG biological preparation, especially in combination with green manure and cattle manure.
The nitrate content in tubers varied from 62.3 to 79.1 mg/kg, which was significantly lower than in the traditional cultivation technology (136.8 mg/kg). Analysis of variance confirmed a significant influence of nutrition background, biological preparations and biofungicides on the formation of biochemical parameters of potato tubers.
The obtained results indicate that organic cultivation technologies based on the use of green manure crops, organic fertilizers and microbial preparations contribute to improving the nutritional and biological value of potato tubers, increasing their antioxidant potential and reducing nitrate accumulation.
