Abstract

The effectiveness and importance of fungicide application for ensuring high yield and marketable quality of tomato production under plastic greenhouse conditions on soil substrate with a combined microclimate regulation system have been substantiated. Five variants of fungicide active ingredients recommended for greenhouse tomato cultivation technologies were analyzed in terms of their impact on plant protection efficiency and productivity formation. The aim of the study was to conduct a two-year evaluation of different fungicide treatments under single and double applications at defined critical phenological stages, considering the identified spectrum of diseases based on continuous monitoring. During the study period (2021–2025), the following fungicides and their active ingredients were evaluated: Quadris 250 SC (azoxystrobin), Ridomil Gold WG (640 g/kg mancozeb + 40 g/kg metalaxyl-M), Zorvec Incantia, SE (oxathiapiprolin 30 g/L + famoxadone 300 g/L), Fundazol (benomyl 500 g/kg), and Thanos WG (250 g/kg famoxadone + 250 g/kg cymoxanil). Fungicides were applied in two variants: during the budding stage (BBCH 45–47) and at the beginning of fruiting (BBCH 68–70). The results showed that the effectiveness of fungicides under single application reached 65.73%, while under double application it increased to 80.30%. Based on their active ingredients, the fungicides–under both single and combined application schemes – were ranked in ascending order of effectiveness in controlling tomato diseases and ensuring high yield and marketable quality as follows: Fundazol – Quadris 250 SC – Zorvec Incantia, SE – Ridomil Gold, WG – Thanos, WG.
